Purchase your PMCL directly through the Product Offers section of Envirocheck.co.uk and ensure your organisation is not breaking Ordnance Survey Copyright terms.
Why do I need a Paper Map Copying Licence?
Landmark and Ordnance Survey work together to ensure that mapping is protected under Crown copyright by virtue of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Organisations previously could purchase a Licence to Copy which allowed them to produce a certain number of copies of Landmark report products; this has now been superseded by a more comprehensive Paper Map Copying Licence (PMCL) enabling you to make unrestricted multiple copies of mapping in paper or electronic form. A PMCL is purchased on a per office basis and covers all copying of Ordnance Survey maps by that office, irrespective of the number of copies.
You can purchase a PMCL through Envirocheck and if you already hold a PMCL then you can enter the details into Envirocheck. For more information on PMCL and the costs and benefits, please see here.
How to order a PMCL?
Envirocheck customers are able to purchase a PMCL directly through the Product Offers section of Envirocheck.co.uk. If you do not have a PMCL to cover the mapping you require you will be prompted to obtain one before you will be able to progress to the final stages of your order. If your office already holds a PMCL this information can easily be entered into Envirocheck and will be applied to all orders. If you require more information on Paper Map Copying Licences, please contact your dedicated Account Manager or call customers services on 0844 844 9952.
