Envirocheck now includes specialist coal report for Environmental Consultants

If your site is in a Development High Risk Area you will need to submit a Coal Mining Risk Assessment to your Local Planning Authority. Therefore, environmental consultants undertaking due diligence or a geotechnical risk assessment need detailed and accurate data. The Envirocheck report is a vital source of information when conducting site assessments. To support the Envirocheck report you are now able to order the Coal Authority Consultants report through Envirocheck. The CON29M report provides enough information for some initial insight into coal mining impacts. However, it does not deliver the more detailed geotechnical analysis and site history environmental consultants require to conduct a Coal Mining Risk Assessment to support and discharge a planning application.

Designed by environmental consultants and geotechnical engineers, the report provides essential data and guidance on historic coal mining activity and the potential issues that could affect your client’s site and its surrounding area.

The report pinpoints significant past activity or coal mining legacy management, which could have a significant impact on your client’s site.

We are uniquely placed to provide follow on reports and consultancy to assist in managing your client’s site.

Why you need it

Some consultants use the CON29M screening report as a basis for building their risk assessment. While this provides an initial understanding of coal mining impacts, it does not meet the requirements of a more detailed geotechnical analysis and site history for your developer clients.

Being able to characterise the site and its surrounding area means more context, improved visualisation and better risk assessment.

What's included?

Each report will include information available for the following:

  •     Recorded and probable coal mining activity
  •     Investigations and remedial activity
  •     Coal mining geology
  •     Licensing and future mining activity
  •     Coal Authority manage tips
  •     Mine water treatment schemes

To provide this key information to your clients, environmental consultants can use the insights from their Envirocheck report. Save time and get a more detailed picture of the site in question with this new report.

To support the transition to the new report and in partnership with The Coal Authority, we'll be running a webinar on Thursday 2nd July at 12pm, to give you an in-depth explanation of the Consultants Coal Mining Report and bring the risks to life with one of our real life case studies.
